07:30: Your tour guide from Meditours Ninh Binh Company will pick you up at the designated meeting point to start the excursion to Mua Cave. Located at the foot of Mua Mountain in Khe Dau Ha village, Ninh Xuan commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh, Mua Cave is known as the “fairy maiden of Tam Coc” or the “Great Wall of Vietnam.” With majestic views of limestone peaks, golden rice fields and strange mountaintop pagodas, this place is the perfect start for Ninh Binh tours.

    Tam Coc

After exploring Mua Cave, the group will board the car to continue the journey to the scenic Tam Coc Bich Dong. Tam Coc, meaning “three caves,” comprises the Hang Ca (First Cave), Hang Hai (Second Cave), and Hang Ba (Third Cave), which are traversed by the Ngo Dong River, meandering amidst rice fields in the valley. On either side are graceful limestone karsts, creating a breathtaking landscape. Bich Dong is an ancient cave pagoda originally named “Bach Ngoc Thach Son Dong,” meaning the beautiful and white-as-jade stone cave pagoda. In 1774, Lord Trinh Sam renamed it Bich Dong Pagoda – the pagoda in the green cave, a typical cave temple style unique to Ninh Binh.

The group will visit the Lower, Middle, and Upper pagodas to admire the panoramic view of Tam Coc’s picturesque scenery. Then, the journey continues with a visit to Thai Vi Temple, an ancient stone temple located within the Vu Lam Royal Step-over Relic Complex. This is where King Tran Thai Tong practiced Buddhism and established a stronghold against the Mongol Yuan army in the 13th century. The temple creates a serene space amidst the majestic mountains, poetic landscapes, and peaceful rice fields.
